Description
Ten days of award-winning feature films, documentaries, shorts, silent films and events for the community, all for free. Popcorn too.
The YOUNG FILMMAKERS COMPETITION (YFC) is free and open to anyone age 18 and under from the United States. We use the platform Film Freeway to solicit short films. They are judged on creativity, originality and artistic/technical mastery. Awards will be presented to the top films and the Audience Favorite on March 21 at a Hollywood red carpet style screening and ceremony at the GhostLight Theater immediately following the 6:00 pm screening. Attend a YFC screening on March 15 or March 19 to cast your vote for the Audience Favorite. The YFC is juried by Doreen Bartoni, Dean Emeritus, School of Media Arts at Columbia College Chicago.
This year we received 150 films from all over the country. This screening includes 23 short films from 9 states.
