Description
Join hike leader Pat Fisher (HCH President) and the Harbor County Hikers on their next Adventure in woods, hills and vineyards of Mt. Tabor Trails. The mayapples and grapes should be blooming, and the hardwoods will be busy pushing out the last of their summer leaves. There’ll be plenty of nature to see. This trail system is on the Valparaiso Moraine so be ready for a hilly and twisting hike. Pat will reveal some of the reasons Michigan is “Great for Grapes” during our rest stops. Just a reminder, the trails will be quite slippery if wet due to the clayey soils.
Explore the beauty of Mt. Tabor Trails. With a little over 3.5 miles of stunning trails looping through the woods and vineyards, you can stretch your legs and venture between Round Barn Estate and Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant.
HCH has an All-Terrain Rollator which may be reserved for use on our hikes. Reservations are made by Emailing harborcountryhikers@gmail.com on a first-come first-served basis. This hilly hike will be a good test for how well our rollator gets around.
In case of inclement weather, check our website/ FB page the day of hike for cancellation/ rescheduling notice. Wear long pants (preferably tucked-in), a sun hat, sturdy shoes or boots and insect repellent and bring plenty of water. Depending on the weather, there may be some muddy areas. HCH hikers observe federal and state guidelines so mask wearing is optional.
