Leaf Peeping Berrien (Love Creek County Park)

Description

The Harbor Country Hikers (HCH) will be taking our annual Berrien County Park Tour again this fall. With Park Naturalists leading the way, "The Hikers" will be visiting three Berrien County Parks to see the fall colors change and learn some interesting things about how Southwest Michigan’s wildlife preps for winter. We will begin our “Leaf Peeping” tour at the Love Creek Nature Center and hike through some of the memorable fall trails of Berrien.
 
Besides the Nature Center, mountain bike and well-groomed cross country ski trails and winter fat-tire bike trails (ski and bike rentals available), the natural features of this park include around 200 acres of meadows, mature forests, marshes and creek.
 
HCH has an All-Terrain Rollator which may be reserved for use on our hikes. Reservations are made by Emailing harborcountryhikers@gmail.com on a first-come first-served basis. This will not be the best hike to try our rollator due to the many hills.
 
In case of inclement weather, check our website/ FB page the day of hike for cancellation/ rescheduling notice. Wear long pants (preferably tucked-in), a sun hat, sturdy shoes or boots and insect repellent and bring plenty of water. Depending on the weather, there may be some muddy areas. HCH hikers observe federal and state guidelines so mask wearing is optional.
