Description
Our own Marco Chavarry, curator of all things Alapash, is using his creative energies to produce an unforgettable evening of music, food, and friendship for a very important cause. For a second year, as part of his commitment to the arts and the Three Oaks community, Marco is producing the much anticipated Some Enchanted Evening II benefit for the School of American Music's Future Fund. Marco's passion for the arts has moved him to collaborate with artists and organizations to help spread the positive influence of arts in people's lives. "When the School asked me to produce this show, I wanted to use the opportunity to create an event that would be fun, entertaining and interactive for performers and audience members alike. All our friends and their families are invited to bring picnic baskets and blankets to create a special setting for dancing, clapping and cheering to music from around the world."
This year the event features Indo-Flamenco dance and music presented by the Surabhi Ensemble. A collective of music and dance artists with connections to Indian, Spanish, Senegalese and Arabic cultures, the ensemble will depict the Andalusian Trail through world music including Flamenco, Indian, Arabic and West African beats. The Andalusian Trail is the path from India to the Middle East to North Africa and across the Mediterranean into Andalusia, Spain. The foundation of Andalusian and Flamenco music emerged from those who traveled the trail. Some Enchanted Evening II, the School of American Music’s annual end-of-summer outdoor affair, begins at 7:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, September, 17th, on Spring Creek Stage, 14 Maple St., at the edge of Dewey Cannon Park in Three Oaks, Michigan.
Please join the celebration and support the School and its music education programs in a setting that will certainly be Some Enchanted Evening for all
