The Jewish Farmers of Berrien County
Description
In our final exhibit of 2023, we dive deeper into a story we introduced in 2021.
Farming was sold to newly arrived Jewish immigrants to make a living in the U.S. and thousands moved westward to claim land in Michigan and beyond.
With the creation of the Berrien County Jewish Farmers Association, the story of their contributions and camaraderie was dutifully recorded.
And the history nearly forgotten by time is now the star of this exhibit. Guests will have a chance to revisit the families who contributed to Berrien County’s agricultural growth and success.
The exhibit will run from October 11th through December 23rd inside the Sheriff’s Residence. While all our exhibits and programs are free, donations are welcomed to support future exhibits at the museum.
