Dunes Arts Foundation announces a special concert performance of Two Trains Running. August Wilson’s culturally significant play will be presented through a partnership between the Dunes Art Foundation and The Acting Company (New York). The performance in Michigan City, IN, will be the only Chicagoland appearance of The Acting Company on their national tour.

This event includes a 10-minute intermission and will conclude with a 15-minute post-show discussion with the cast.
This is a "pay what you can" event. Suggested ticket prices are $5-$50. Tickets available at: dunesARTS.org/tickets or at the door.
ABOUT THE DUNES ARTS FOUNDATION:
Under Artistic Director Steve Scott, the Dunes Arts Foundation, founded in 1951, entertains and inspires our community through high-quality performances and programs. The theatre is located in Michiana Shores, about a half mile from the Indiana Dunes and the Lake Michigan shore.
ABOUT THE ACTING COMPANY:
Founded in 1972 by John Houseman and Margot Harley, The Acting Company has launched nearly 500 actors and performed for over four million people. Under Artistic Director Kent Gash, it annually offers productions and educational programs to 20,000 audience members and 2,000 students.

ABOUT THE PLAY:
Two Trains Running is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated play by August Wilson set in 1968 in Pittsburgh's Hill District. It follows Memphis Lee, a diner owner navigating the civil rights movement as he faces the dilemma of either selling his building to a greedy businessman or letting the government take it. The play features rich characters and explores themes of joy, hope, love, and resilience amid adversity. Two Trains Running is the 7th play in Wilson’s The Pittsburgh Cycle.
ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:
August Wilson, 1945-2005, hailed as “the theater's poet of Black America” by Charles Isherwood of the New York Times, is renowned for The Pittsburgh Cycle—a collection of ten plays that chronicle the experiences and heritage of the African-American community in the 20th century.
